The skyscraper lights up with art

A masterpiece with lights and a view. The protagonist is the painting The Madonna and Child with Saint Elizabeth and the infant Saint John, by the Florentine painter Agnolo di Cosimo di Mariano, known as Bronzino. The painting is on loan from the National Museum of Capodimonte, which has just completed its restoration.
The exhibition, hosted by Spazio Trentacinque on the 36th floor of the skyscraper, is intended to be Intesa Sanpaolo’ gift for the city of Turin on the occasion of Christmas holidays.
The painting depicts the Virgin with the Child on her knees in the act of playing with the infant Saint John. Behind him stands the figure of his mother Saint Elizabeth. The painting, of biblical inspiration, compares two different motherhoods, that of the Virgin Mary and that of the elderly Elizabeth, and symbolizes the hand-over from the prophet, Saint John, to the Messiah, the Child Jesus. A sacred theme reinterpreted by Bronzino in a mannerist key, with accents, colors and plastic postures reminiscent of Michelangelo.
On the occasion of the visit it will be also possible to admire α-cromactive, the installation developed by Migliore+Servetto Architects – as part of the event Luci d’Artista- for the skyscraper and consisting of two elements: one suspended in the bioclimatic greenhouse and the other placed in the terrace of the 35th floor.
